Happy Go Lucky is my first fabric collection, inspired by my original paintings and a life-long love of colour. I have been very blessed by having many lovely loyal customers many of whom have become friends. The thing they say most often to me is that my paintings make them smile and so it seemed apt to dedicate my first collection to all of them. From being a little girl and going to see my Aunt Jenny at Hampton Court Palace as she restored antique tapestries, to my Grandmother teaching me to quilt, and my Mum making us party dresses, textiles have formed a constant thread through my life. Happy Go Lucky takes elements from the different aspects of my paintings from classic florals to contemporary silhouettes combined with pure pattern. What draws them all together is colour and the desire for a collection that can be both fun and formal, eclectic and easy. A collection by Nel Whatmore |
